City Music Radio is one of the two new members that
joined the EDI family in 2002. It features American
country music and entertainment shows, blended with
news from A.P. and local events. Founded in 19810, with
a history of over twenty years, the station ranks number
one in listenership in the area.
Far surpassing the regular coverage of 200 square miles,
the radio covers an area of 450 square miles, with the
available signal of 100,000 Watts reaching from Northern
Nevada, Northern California to Southern Oregon. The
more than 100 major cities within its easy reach are
along the busy freeways such as #5, #89, and #395, on
which the same groups of audience drive on a regular
basis.
The doorsteps to the three states are infrastructure
on a variety of industries, including tourism, international
expos, international trade, gas, and agriculture. In
addition to the countless freeway drivers, the resident
population is over 1 million, excluding the 6 million
tourists annually visiting Reno and Lake Tahoe. This
is an area mainly inhabited
by the middle class Americans, with Caucasians overwhelmingly
the majority. Also, the residents here are basically
GOP supporters during elections.
The hosts of the different shows all have their ex[ertise
they are either country music stars, musicians, music
commentators, or with decades of host experience, having
personal friendship with authorities in the music field.
